The process starts with the registration, collection postcode, condition and access details. After you review the quote and an available collection arrangement, the handover includes identity, authority and vehicle checks before bank-transfer payment.

With the registered keeper's consent, Blackburn Scrap Yard completes the DVLA transfer notification and provides confirmation. A vehicle intended for destruction is then passed to an authorised treatment facility, where it is recorded and hazardous fluids and components are controlled before dismantling and material recovery.

The final paperwork depends on the outcome. An eligible vehicle that is completely depolluted or destroyed can receive a Certificate of Destruction from the ATF. A vehicle following a repair or resale route does not receive that certificate.
